There is an increasing global demand for Analytics professionals across the various Analytics job families. To fulfill this demand, we need to effectively prepare our workforce in this fast-growing field. Meant for academicians and training providers, this meetup will explore how a bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate program, as well as a self-paced online training program, were developed using the AAP Professional Maturity Framework.

Dr. Johnrob Bantang

University of the Philippines


Dr. Johnrob Bantang currently works at the National Institute of Physics, University of the Philippines. Johnrob does research in Computational Physics, Biophysics and Optics. He is currently the head of the Computational Science Research Center of UP Diliman and heads the PhD in Data Science proposal initiative in UP Diliman between the College of Science, School of Statistics and the College of Engineering.



Dr. Eugene Rex Jalao

University of the Philippines


Dr. Eugene Rex Jalao is an Associate Professor of Analytics and Industrial Engineering in the University of the Philippines Diliman, Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research. His ten years of work and research experience are in the fields of business analytics both here in the Philippines and in the United States of America, specifically in the Banking, FMCG, Manufacturing, Real Estate, Healthcare, Telecommunications and Information Technology industries. Furthermore, he was part of 50-person APEC team that drafted the Recommended Data Science and Analytics Competencies last May 2017 in Singapore.



Arturo Patungan, Jr.

University of Sto. Tomas


Arturo J. Patungan, Jr. is an Assistant Professor at the University of Sto. Tomas Manila. He handles subjects in Mathematics, Statistics, Calculus, Operations Research, and Introduction to Data Science and Analytics. He is also a consultant/trainer of StrandAsia, Inc. for Structural Equation Modeling (AMOS) and Statistics (SPSS). Art finished his tertiary education Cum Laude at Don Mariano Marcos Memorial University. He finished his Masters Degree in Mathematics at the University of the Philippines Diliman as Honor Society Graduate. He is a doctorate candidate in Mathematics Education from UP Diliman. His research interests include Machine Learning/Data Mining, Mathematics and Education, Philosophy of Mathematics Education, and Mathematics Teaching in Tertiary Education.



Dr. Amado Saquido

University of Asia & the Pacific


Dr. Amado Saquido is the Vice President for Academic Affairs of the University of Asia & the Pacific. He is the founding dean of UA&P's School of Sciences and Engineering. He is instrumental in the development of the country's first master's program intended to transform program and project managers to Analytics managers--UA&P's Master in Applied Business Analytics. Dr. Saquido graduated with a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from UP Diliman. He earned his master's degree in Information Management from the Ateneo de Manila University and attained his PhD in Finance from UP's College of Business Administration.



Ingrid Tañedo

Project SPARTA


Ingrid Tañedo is an experienced Analytics Project Manager with strong background in Operations Management, Lead Generation, Recruitment and Back Office Administrative Support. She is a seasoned IT professional with a bachelor's degree focused in Cooperative Education and Community Development. Ingrid is currently developing a portfolio in the digital analytics industry including emerging deep technologies (conversational interfaces, augmented reality, edge computing). She recently practiced her soft-skills and knowledge in front-end web development/product development and digital marketing in the Data Science and Analytics field.
