Colin Christie – President
Colin Christie is a serial entrepreneur and internationally-experienced business executive who has practiced a life-long passion for embracing transformative technologies, spanning many industries. He is President of the Board of Trustees of the Analytics Association of the Philippines, where he also serves as Chairman of the External Relations and Community Development Committee. He is also Dean/Director of Digital Transformation at Enderun Colleges and Executive Director of Global Chamber® Manila. Previously, he was a founding member of the Board of Trustees of the Health Information Management Association of the Philippines (HIMAP) and served on the board of its predecessor organization, the Medical Transcription Industry Association of the Philippines (MTIAPI).
Sherwin Pelayo – Secretary and Co-Chair of Insights Committee
Sherwin Pelayo has been involved in strategic capability development initiatives at Accenture, IBM, Pointwest Technologies Corporation, and now at Teradata Global Delivery Center in the Philippines. In this role, Sherwin has been responsible for defining strategies to initiate and expand key transforming digital services including identifying focus areas, defining competencies, building curricula, enabling practitioners, developing leads and opportunities, architecting solutions, and ensuring project delivery. His current focus is in Analytics and Experience Design. It is in the intersection of these two where Sherwin finds his passion–connecting the science of Analytics and the art of Human-Centered Design not only to bring data-inspired, user-driven solutions for business partners but also deliver greater, more impactful social innovation for the Philippines.
Dominic “Doc” Ligot – Treasurer
Data and analytics consultant, entrepreneur and technologist. Doc champions Research and Development through Data Science and Analytics driven projects and the responsible and ethical use of data. He is a frequent speaker on the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the Experience Economy, and building disruptive data-driven organizations. He founded CirroLytix, a data analytics company focused on research augmentation, brand and customer analytics, and developing smart solutions for small and medium enterprises. Doc previously worked at Teradata Corporation as Asia-Pacific Partner for Data Science and Advanced Analytics and also held senior executive roles at ANZ Bank and HSBC. He holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of the Philippines and Professional Certificates in Data-driven Marketing and Advanced Marketing Research from Cornell University.
Eugene Rex L. Jalao, PhD – Co-Chair of Professional Development & Education Committee
Dr. Eugene Rex L. Jalao is an Associate Professor of Analytics and Industrial Engineering in the University of the Philippines Diliman, Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research. His ten years of work and research experience are in the fields of business analytics both here in the Philippines and in the United States of America, specifically in the Banking, FMCG, Manufacturing, Real Estate, Healthcare, Telecommunications and Information Technology industries. Furthermore, he was part of 50-person APEC team that drafted the Recommended Data Science and Analytics Competencies last May 2017 in Singapore.
Michelle Alarcon – Co-Chair of Insights Committee
Michelle has 22 years of IT consulting experience, with 14 years implementing and managing projects in the Philippines, US, and Europe on Business Intelligence and analytics. She pioneered the Analytics Department of the largest local private bank in 2005, implementing a Single Customer View for the group of companies, and headed the Consulting team of a top 3 software company in 2011 where she led a team of 150 consultants in implementing enterprise solutions for companies worldwide. As head of Z-Lift, she continuously enhances the analytics methodology developed from her years of implementation experience and oversees all projects to ensure success with clients.
Alejandro P. Melchor III – Chairman of Smart Cities and Innovation Committee
Mr. Melchor, just like many Filipino talents, left the Philippines when he was 19 seeking greener pastures in the United States. He returned to the Philippines 20 years later, and retuned to his first love as an academician. By 1998, he tried public service to fight evils that people accustomed to life in more advanced countries could never tolerate. He served in senior positions in the National Anti-Poverty Commission, the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission, and the Department of National Defense—to fight extreme poverty, transnational organized crime and terrorism. In Jan 2007 He joined IBM Philippines for a different approach to changing the country—through innovation, IT-BPM, ICT Talent Development, R&D, Investment Promotion, and Smart Cities. In Nov. 2011, he was invited to join the DOST’s ICT Office (now the DICT) to handle the IT-BPM Industry, and the Next Wave Cities Program. By 2013 he was invited to join DOST OSEC to assist the Secretary with Smarter Philippines and Smarter Cities. His present passions are to advance Smarter Governance, Smarter Education, and Smarter Agriculture, and help make our cities more livable to keep our home grown talents and to attract foreign investors.
Monchito B. Ibrahim – Chairman of Industry Development Committee
Mr. Ibrahim recently retired as Undersecretary for Regional Operations and ICT Industry Development of the DICT. He also served as Commissioner of the then Commission on Information and Communications Technology. Before joining government, he had a long successful career with multinational companies like Fujitsu, WeServ, Siemens-Nixdorf, Comparex Germany and Unisys Australia in various executive positions. He is a Trustee and President of the University of the Philippines System Information Technology Foundation (UPSITF) and a member of the Technical Panel for Information Technology Education (TPITE) of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) since 2006. He completed a Public Sector Executive Program on Innovative Government at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy of the National University of Singapore. During the 2012 International ICT Awards, he was given the ICT Individual Contributor Award for his contributions to the growth of the Philippine IT-BPO Industry. He was also named as one of the Ten ICT Industry Movers and Shakers for the period 2002-2012 and recipient of the Boards’ Choice as Government Champion, both given by the Contact Center Association of the Philippines (CCAP). In 2016, he was given the Sapphire Flare for Brilliance Award by IBPAP for his work in the development of home-grown BPO companies in the rural areas.
Brenda A. Quismorio, PhD – Co-Chair of Professional Development & Education Committee
Dr. Brenda A. Quismorio has solid years of experience in consulting, project management, process re-engineering, application development and maintenance, quality management, and data services work for global and local firms. Brenda is the Program Director of the Master of Business Analytics (MABA) of the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) and takes part in various fora on analytics. Among these engagements is APEC’s Project DARE (Data Analytics Raising Employment). Brenda holds degrees from the University of the Philippines (Diliman) in BS Statistics, MBA, MS in Management and Ph.D. in Business Administration with a dissertation on modeling financial extreme risks.
Jemain Diaz de Rivera – Chair of Membership Committee
Jemain Diaz de Rivera has knowledge and insight regarding operations, marketing and outsourcing / offshoring industry with a wide network in business, government, and with industry stakeholders for business development, establishing partnerships and unique programs, working to make the Philippines a preferred investment destination. She is an experienced executive with a demonstrated history of work in the outsourcing sector and is a seasoned Public Affairs & Corporate Communication leader skilled in Advertising, Investor Relations, and Internal/Colleague and Leadership Communication.
She was Executive Director of the Healthcare Information Management Association of the Philippines. Prior to this she was Senior Marketing Manager of the IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines, Senior Marketing and Sales Manager of Pharmacanada, Public Affairs Manager of the Australian Embassy in the Philippines, and head of a marketing and public relations organization, with knowledge in handling government, corporate and community projects and initiatives for local, foreign and multinational organizations.
